I'm working with a medical dataset in a "long" format, meaning each row represents a timestamp and I have a column named "test" representing the test, an additional column representing the value of the test (can be numeric / character / na) and additional columns representing information on the patients.

I want to start cleaning the dataset from not relevant tests. Most eda functions / packages require the data to be in the wide format to work with them, but I want to be able to do some tidying before I "spread" the test column into multiple features.

Happy to hear suggestions for a work process from anyone that had any experience working this way, or if you have any references I can read
