I am trying to study the effect of using feature selection onmy text classification code . I want to make a rating without any feature selection, but sklearn use document frequency (df) by default

max_df : float in range [0.0, 1.0] or int (default=1.0)

min_df : float in range [0.0, 1.0] or int (default=1)

how can I disable using df feature selection ????

  • $\begingroup$ Technically, you should set max_df and min_df to avoid cut-off by this threshold. If i'm not mistaken, max_df means the maximum ratio (if float) or number (if int) of documents in the dataset. If it's set to 1.0 it means "not more than in 100% of documents" (which means it's disabled). min_df means "not less than in 1 document (int is default)". So I guess it's disabled by default. How did you understand that it's enabled? $\endgroup$ – i1bgv Nov 5 '19 at 14:03
