I am a newbie in the machine learning world and I need guidance from the professionals. I am trying to make a hierarchy starting from machine learning, then to deep learning and to BERT. I have read several articles but I'd get lost in the middle, I don't understand where BERT would fit in the machine learning Hierarchy. Apologies if I my question is vague, I am more than happy to explain the part you don't understand. Thank you.

$\begingroup$ Hi @bilalrahim. BERT is a supervised learning algorithm, also can be considered self-supervised (i.e. no annotated data), it is based on deep learning techniques (Transformer-style self-attention layers). It is not very clear what kind of machine learning hierarchy you are referring to. Do you have any references to the mentioned hierarchy? $\endgroup$ – noe Dec 4 '20 at 12:35
